What will you do?

From technical drawing to a complete ship’s interior: that’s what you’ll be creating as Shipwright / Assembly Worker at Willemsen. You will fit wall and ceiling panelling, cupboards and furniture on board river cruise ships. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that every component fits perfectly and is finished to a high standard.

You will be working on site, mainly at the shipyards in Heusden and Druten. Using technical drawings, you’ll work independently and coordinate your tasks with the team. From a kitchen to the panelling in a hall: you’ll see the interior take shape step by step.

  • Reading technical drawings and translating them into on-board assembly instructions.
  • Fitting and finishing wall and ceiling panelling.
  • Assembling cupboards, kitchen units and other furniture.
  • Measure, adjust and fit interior components.
  • Working with the machinery and tools required for assembly.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure an accurate and complete handover.

About Willemsen
Willemsen Interieurbouw & Scheepsbetimmering manufactures and installs interiors for inland waterway vessels. The team works on a wide range of vessel interiors, with a focus on craftsmanship and a high-quality finish. To expand and further strengthen the team, we are looking for independent professionals from fields including ship interior construction, cabinetmaking, yacht building, kitchen fitting and shop fitting.

What do you bring?

You are a skilled tradesperson who can work independently and has an eye for a neat finish. Experience in ship interior fitting is welcome, but you can also bring your expertise from furniture making, yacht building, kitchen fitting or shop fitting.

  • Experience in making or fitting interiors, furniture or kitchens.
  • The ability to read technical drawings and work independently to them.
  • Experience with the machinery and tools used in interior fitting.
  • A meticulous approach to work and the initiative to take on tasks.
  • You can work both independently and alongside colleagues.
  • You enjoy working on site and can easily get to the construction sites in Heusden and Druten.
  • A Category B driving licence as a minimum.
  • You speak Dutch, as well as English and/or German.
  • A VCA certificate is an advantage.
