What will you do?

As a Ship Commissioning Engineer, you are responsible for the final – and perhaps most important – phase of the construction process. You ensure that all on-board systems are functioning correctly before the ship is handed over. From the initial start-up to the sea trials: you bring the ship to life.

Your responsibilities will include, amongst other things:

Filling, pressurising and preparing engines for commissioning
Setting up systems using technical drawings and diagrams
Commissioning of engines and systems in collaboration with suppliers
Commissioning of masts, wheelhouses and other technical systems
Check that all systems are communicating correctly with one another
Measuring and monitoring values such as pressure, temperature and settings
Identifying and resolving technical issues in collaboration with suppliers and the engineering team
Accompanying the vessel during sea trials to test the systems under load

You ensure that all the individual parts ultimately come together to form a single, fully functional whole.
