Construction Fitter

What will you do?

In this role, you will help with the complete fit-out of engine rooms on board newly built ships. You will be involved in the entire process: from an empty space to a fully operational technical installation. Together with your colleagues, you’ll build the complex systems that will eventually keep the ship running. Thanks to the combination of structural work, welding and assembly, no two projects are the same, and you’ll see the tangible results of your work every day.

  • Preparing work on the basis of technical drawings
  • Construction of foundations, frames and steel structures
  • Carrying out welding work using electrodes and CO₂
  • Positioning, aligning and installing motors, generators and systems
  • Assembly of technical components in the engine room
  • Contributing ideas on the practical layout and sequence of installation
  • Working with colleagues, foremen and project management
  • Ensuring that the work is carried out safely and to a high standard

  • A gross monthly salary of between €3,844 and €4,718
  • 38 days off per year (25 holiday days and 13 ATV days)

What do you bring?

  • Experience in welding and metalworking
  • Proven experience in shipbuilding or a similar technical sector
  • Technical insight and an understanding of construction work
  • Experience in reading technical drawings
  • A meticulous and quality-focused approach to work
  • A practical approach and a can-do attitude
  • The ability to work independently
  • Good teamwork skills within a team environment
